Then, a detailed physical examination of the patient is performed. During this examination, our surgeons will examine your eyelids and the surrounding skin. The surgeon will determine the amount of sagging skin and possible fat accumulations.
At that point, we will tell you whether upper or lower eyelid surgery would be right for your condition. Patients often opt to have both eyelids addressed with this surgery, but that varies from one patient to another.

Upper eyelid surgery
Upper blepharoplasty is commonly performed to open up the eyes by eliminating the excess loose skin from upper lids. Our upper eyelid consists of many parts. There are fat pouches in the interior and midline, and the lacrimal gland in the outer line.
In upper eyelid surgery, upper eyelid is anaesthetised with local anaesthesia. The excess skin is removed, and then, a part of the underlying muscle is removed. Fat pouches in the interior and midline are reached and some parts of the herniated fat pouches are removed. The incision is closed with dissolvable stitches and the procedure is terminated.
Lower eyelid surgery
Lower blepharoplasty is commonly performed to remove skin and fat pads. In lower eyelid surgery, excess fat pouches in the interior, midline and outer line are reached and some parts of the herniated fat pouches are removed. Later, some parts of the excess muscle and skin are removed. Dissolvable stitches are used to close the skin incision.
Step-by-Step Procedure for Eyelid Surgery
In eyelid surgery, we apply with just local anaesthesia so that the patient is pain-free and unaware of the procedure being performed.
Day 1: Pre-Operative Procedure & Examination
We gather your expectations, take your photos, and plan the surgery to give your eyes the desired look. You have your pre-operative laboratory tests and anesthesia consultation at our clinic. Then, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Day 2: The Surgery & Overnight Stay At The Hospital
The following morning, you will be admitted to the hospital, and your blepharoplasty procedure starts. The surgery is carried out under general anesthesia and lasts for 30 minutes to one hour.
During the surgery, a small incision is made along the natural crease of the upper eyelid or the lash line of the lower eyelid. When the operation is completed, the incision is closed carefully. After the surgery, you stay in the hospital for one night. Necessary nursing and care services are provided here.
Day 3 - 5: Discharge & Free Time
The next morning, your doctor will examine you, and you will be discharged. Before the discharge, you will be provided with all your medicines as well as post-operative care. Then, you will be dropped off at your hotel. Then, you have enough free time to take a rest.
Day 6 - 8: Re-examination & Free Time
You will be examined at our clinic, and your drains will be removed. Now, you will have enough free time to travel and explore the city if you want. It is safe!
Day 9: Final Examination & Post-Operative Care
You will visit our clinic for the final examination. Now, you are allowed to return to your country safely. Our nurses will inform you about your post-operative care and give you information sheets.
In the first, third, and sixth months after the eyelid surgery, we will provide online consultation or through photographs, and suggestions are made.
